Green Light for Poruba. Voting on proposals has started

From 12 to 22 November, the citizens of Poruba may vote on the twelve proposals submitted to the participatory budget, as part of the third annual project „Green Light for Poruba”.

All Poruba citizens aged 15+ may vote on the twelve registered ideas, which will be implemented in the next year by the city district with a budget of CZK 1.5 million. This year’s ideas include, for example, the installation of street clocks, the creation of a pink flower bed, children’s playgrounds and workout parks, renovation of pavements and the construction of a dog’s playground. You can vote electronically at, or through a ballot paper, which will be available at the Poruba Information Centre on Hlavní třída and in the four Poruba branches of the Ostrava City Library. Every voter can cast two positive and one negative votes – a positive vote for the idea they like and negative for what they do not agree with. Proposals that receive the most votes and whose estimated budgets will be within the allocated CZK 1.5 million will be implemented in 2019.

The vote will close next week on Thursday, 22 November 2018.

Green Light for Poruba is a project of the city district of Poruba. It aims to motivate people to participate in the budget and to enable them to actively decide on issues at the place where they live.
