1800 more boilers can still be financed via the Region’s boiler subsidies programme
The Moravian-Silesian Region still has at its disposal around 190 million CZK to fund household boiler replacements (swapping out old boilers for new, eco-friendly units). According to Deputy Regional President Jan Krkoška, this will cover the cost of around 1800 new boilers.
Since last September, the Region has received over 7000 applications for new boilers. Around 5 200 of these have already been processed; the Region has begun paying out funds to successful applicants. The most popular type of boilers purchased via the scheme are gas condensing boilers. Households can apply for funding until the end of this year, or until the funds run out or 10 000 applications are received.
The Moravian-Silesian Region has earmarked a total 69 million CZK from its budget to cover the replacement programme as part of the current (second) call; this represents 7 500 CZK from the Region’s budget per boiler. The Region has also released 45 million CZK to pre-finance contributions from 78 partner municipalities which are participating in the project; these municipalities will provide between 1 500 and 15 000 CZK per applicant.
