The Ostravice river embankment in the heart of the city centre (Havlíčkovo nábřeží) now boasts two unique viewing galleries which protrude from the top of the raised embankment wall. One is adjacent to the car park outside the Regional Court building, and the other is at the end of Matiční St.
Both viewing galleries have terraces which offer new views of the revitalized Ostravice River, the opposite bank (Seidlerovo nábřeží) and part of the Slezská Ostrava district on the slopes above the opposite bank. With integrated seating areas, the galleries offer a pleasant area to rest and relax in the busy city centre. In the evening the galleries are floodlit.
