Czech Young Brains 2018 – a national competition for talented young scientists

For the past 12 years, the Ministry of Education and the NGO ‘Czech Brains’ has run a prestigious nationwide competition supporting talented young scientists.

‘Czech Young Brains’ is an offshoot of the main ‘Czech Brains’ competition; it is targeted at young scientists from Czech universities and secondary schools. Many Czech universities work closely alongside local schools to encourage talented young people to become involved in university research – even while they are still studying at secondary school.

This year’s ‘Czech Young Brains’ competition (for more information see the project website here) includes a special award sponsored by the utility management group Veolia. The award will be given in recognition of outstanding work and projects focusing on environmental improvements or conservation, at both the national and regional levels.

The winner of the award will receive a prize of 30 000 CZK.

The deadline for submitting nominations is 30 June 2018.

If you have any questions about the competition or the Veolia award, please contact the organizers by e-mail (pazlerova@ceskahlava.cz) or by phone (+420 724 258 664).
