As in previous years, Ostrava’s water management company OVAK is celebrating World Water Day with its fun educational project “Find the Source”, targeted at children in grades 4 and 5 of the city’s primary schools.

About the project:

The first part of the project – organized to mark World Water Day (22 March) – focuses on theoretical knowledge. Each registered class group will receive six competition tasks connected with the topic “water”. Each task will then be graded on a scale from 0–10 points, and participants can also win an extra 25 bonus points!

After the theoretical part, class groups which have successfully completed 6 tasks will be given instructions on the second part of the project.

The second part takes place on 1 June 2018 at the Silesian Ostrava castle. It comprises a programme of fun events including the presentation of the awards for the entire project. Teams with five members each will represent each class group, competing in various outdoor tasks and challenges; the remaining children will be able to enjoy a special accompanying programme full of fun activities.

The top three class groups will win a one-day sightseeing trip to some of the most beautiful places in the Moravian-Silesian Region, plus other prizes.
