Green School of the Moravian-Silesian Region

The 12th year of the competition “Green School of the Moravian-Silesian Region 2017/2018” has just been announced. The aim of this competition is to promote, appreciate and make visible the ongoing environmental activities of schools and school facilities, including the work of educators focusing on environmental education and awareness-raising, and sustainable development education.
For example, schools will be evaluated in terms of waste management, whether and how they use bio-waste, how they conserve water and energy, whether they buy green products and organic food, etc.
The competition is open to schools and school facilities based in the Moravian-Silesian Region, regardless of their founder. The electronic application form is available till 4 July 2018 on the web page of the Moravian-Silesian Region.
The winners of all three categories (nursery, primary and secondary school) will be awarded the title “Green school of the Moravian-Silesian Region 2017/2018”, together with a certificate and a voucher for CZK 35,000 for each of the three winners. In addition, five organizations will be awarded for their extraordinary environmental activities with a reference letter and a voucher worth CZK 11,000 for each winner.
The winners of the competition “Green School of the Moravian-Silesian Region 2017/2018” will be announced on 24 October 2018 in the vestibule of the Regional Assembly’s meeting hall in the building of the Regional Authority.
