The Moravian-Silesian Region has published two children’s books on nature-related themes
The Region has published two new books for children – one written by children themselves, and the other featuring a friendly dog. Both books aim to promote love and respect for nature and raise children’s awareness of how to behave in an environmentally responsible way.
The books were presented to the public by the Deputy Regional President Jarmila Uvírová – and of course by the children who helped to write and illustrate the books. Uvírová (whose area of responsibility includes environmental issues) gave more details:
“The first book – called ‘Tree Stories’ – was written by the children themselves. The stories are wonderfully imaginative, and I am sure they will captivate a wide range of readers. They are an excellent example of how sensitive children are to their environment, and how much they love trees. The other book features a happy dog and his friends, and it is aimed at very young children. The texts were written by Mrs Stanislava Bártová, and the children provided some beautiful illustrations. I am delighted that we have such talented children here in the Region – and I am sure that they will soon get another chance to express their love of nature.”
The books will be donated to preschools, schools, health care providers and social care institutions throughout the Region and city of Ostrava as well.
