New underground containers

Waste
This year, underground containers for sorted waste will be built at four locations in Ostrava-Poruba. Each will include five bins for mixed waste, paper, plastic, and glass. Work started in September and should end in November.
First underground containers were built in Poruba in 2016. Each of them led to the aesthetic improvement of its surrounding area. These areas now look more tidy and presentable. Because the capacity of the underground containers is larger than that of the previous waste bins, they help deal with the problem of illegal landfilling and also encourage people to sort waste.
