Ostravice waterfront will get a workout park

The revitalization of the right bank of Ostravice will include the installation of street furniture and a workout park.

The section from the boathouse to the Sýkora Bridge will be fitted with seven park benches. There are four picnic tables and benches in front of the boathouse, with six designer concrete sofas placed by the former bridge pillar, which will soon be renovated.

Seven waste bins were also installed in these places.

Next to the boathouse, a 97m2 workout park is being built. At the end of this week, anyone will be able to exercise on horizontal bars, wall bars, gymnastic rings, parallel bars and benches. The park consists of 22 training elements made of durable stainless steel.  The park also includes an information board with visitor rules and exercise guides.

The project “Ostravice riverside – revitalization of greenery” and street furniture worth CZK 8.5 million excl. VAT, which includes landscaping, planting of flowers, trees and shrubs and addition of new furniture, is followed by other partial projects in this locality, involving the renovation of the bridge pillars and the construction of a stepped terrace with seating and river views. In September, the City will begin the renovation of a path in the river berm, which was damaged in the spring of 2014, when the Ostravice overflew and washed away part of the pedestrian path.
