Three safari ranges

The safari in Zoo Ostrava offers a ride through three large ranges with more than a hundred animals, of which eight are this year’s new-borns. In addition to African and Asian ungulates, there is also a group of common ostriches. You can enjoy the immediate proximity to animals every day from 10am.

The Safari in Zoo Ostrava was opened in 2014. It includes three ranges with a total area of ​​almost six hectares, which are currently home to over 100 animals, involving more than 10 species of African and Asian fauna. The ride begins in the White Nile valley, continues through Persia all the way to India …

News animals and new-borns

The Africa range is now home to a new group of four common ostrich females. You can also see three new-born Nile lechwes – one male and two females. The Persia range saw the birth of two female babies of the endangered Persian onagers.  Most animals can be seen in the India range, now including the new-born blue bull twins (males) and one new-born axis deer (male). There are four other young axis deer in the herd, born at the end of last year.

During the high season, you can take the safari ride every day from 10am. The safari express takes 15 to 20 minutes, and departs from the giraffe range.
