The riverbank has undergone widespread redevelopment (including a complete re-paving) to create facilities for sport and recreation.
There are three sunbathing areas along the banks where the river passes the Komenského Sady park – between the Kamenec footbridge and the bridge near the war memorial. Two of these areas are on the left bank (the same side as the park), and the other is on the right bank, near the Kamenec residential area. They are also used by water sports enthusiasts as rest areas.
