Renovation of U Boříka Park
The objective of the project is to restore existing public green spaces. This includes line, group and solitary planting of trees, planting and rejuvenating grassy areas, perennial plants and shrubs, maintaining the existing greenery, and repairing and building roads, small buildings, and outdoor furniture.
A public tender for preparation of the documentation for planning proceedings, engineering and author’s supervision is currently being prepared.
Za Lunou Greenery
The project includes the maintenance of existing trees and shrubs, new planting, new solutions for paved areas and roads (including an in-line skating route), landscaping and adding outdoor furniture. The objective is the overall restoration of the area between Partice Lumumby and Kosmonautů streets (Ostrava-Jih Municipal District) behind the cinema Luna (increasing the grassy and planted areas).
Schedule of the construction: 2018/19 (construction)
Savarin Greenery
The project includes the maintenance of the existing trees and shrubs, new plantings, new solutions for paved areas and roads, landscaping and adding outdoor furniture. The aim is to restore the existing public green space in the inner courtyard and near the entranceways in the housing estate (Dr. Martínka Street in Ostrava-Jih Municipal District).
Schedule of the construction: 2018/19 (construction)
Revitalization of the Pustkovec valley
This is one of the most beautiful green areas in the western part of Ostrava. The existing parkland will be complemented by new plantings and flower meadows. The project will also revitalize the Pustkovec stream and pond, including a water playpark, new wooden piers and park furniture. The stream will be restored to its original natural state, creating small pools which will retain water during dry periods and facilitate the spread of flora and fauna in the area.
Benátky Forest Park revitalization
The forest (covering an area of 23,7 hectares) is the site of a former open-air swimming pool and an area of ponds known as “Benátky”. The area will be revitalized and opened up to the public as a sports and leisure destination. The ponds – a unique biotope within the city – will be revitalized, including the creation of a leisure meadow with a kiosk, a children´s play area and an outdoor fitness facility for adults.
Cingrův sad Park
This large meadow is flanked on all sides by major roads and railways. Plans for revitalization include new footpaths, benches, tree-planting and lines of shrubs which will shield the park from the noise of the surrounding transport arteries.
City centre park areas revitalization
The city centre will come to life in a festival of colours thanks to new ornamental trees, shrubs and flowers – a total of 86 trees, 2 500 shrubs, 2 000 different grasses and ferns, 9 200 perennials and 17 400 bulb flowers. The revitalization project will cover an area of Černa louka complex, Trojhalí and Nová Karolina.
